Annaliese Doig

Stylist Annaliese Doig's work is marked out by a joyful exuberance brought to the fore by a playful and fearless use of colour, texture, proportion and layering. Her visual agility and delightful alacrity stand her apart - as well as her knack for crafting fashion in the service of edifying all the other components of image-making.

Raised in Christchurch, Annaliese spent a good amount of her younger years in South Africa, due to her Zimbabwean mother’s lineage. Her travels richly inform her aesthetic, which belies a wide horizon and an openness of spirit, in which art and fashion are inextricably intertwined.

Annaliese cut her teeth in the styling cupboard of seminal Australian fashion publications, where she was put through her paces to develop a singular rigour and resourcefulness. In applying herself to a brief, Annaliese searches high and low, both in terms of her references - which range from directors Jean-Pierre Jeunet and Wes Anderson to artists Jean-Michel Othoniel and Cesar Baldaccini as well as industry stalwarts such as Grace Coddington and Tim Walker - and her sourcing, where she leaves no lead unfollowed in finding the perfect pieces and combinations.
